Cyclist uses perfect rugby tackle to save bike from being stolen
A would-be thief got a nasty fright over the weekend when he was tackled to the ground by the owner of a bike in Dublin.
The cyclist had left his carbon racer outside the doors of 360 Cycles in Clontarf, and 17 seconds later it was being wheeled away.
Luckily the owner spotted the incident and rugby tackled the person to the ground – eventually recovering the expensive bike.
Speaking yesterday, a member of staff from 360 cycles said: “How quick can a bike be robbed?? Less than 17 seconds based on this video.
“One of our senior mechanics was very lucky to get away with about €200 worth of damage rather than losing his carbon racing bike.
“This happened in Clontarf over the weekend and we would like to urge all bike owners to lock their bikes at all times even if you are just leaving it for under a minute.
