Daire impresses in Junior Saloon

DAIRE Flock has taken 5 wins from 6 races to lead the Junior Saloon Car Championship, after competing in Pembrey, South Wales and in Anglesey in North Wales over 2 weeks in May & June.

Pembrey located in South Wales, not his favourite track for the 15-year-old from Tallaght and his first triple header of the season.

Daire managed to take two wins from 4th and 3rd on the grid after hard fought battles with his team mates Jack James and Jonny Moore, before taking first.

In the 3rd race, Daire experienced a techinical issue that made him retire on the first lap.

Anglesey 14 days later was the venue of Daire’s first win in 2023 and he was looking forward to another triple header.

After qualifying he was 4th, 3rd and 2nd on the grid.

With the first race on Saturday, Daire sprinted into the lead to be chased by his teammate Jack James for most of the race, before taking the win.

The second race on Sunday, Daire started from 3rd and with another good start that took him into the lead at the first turn.

He was chased by the pack for most of the race but held station to win the second race from his team mate Jonny Moore.

With the triple win in Daire’s sights, the third race had a re-start after an incident at the first corner.

Leading off the line, Daire headed the pole position into the lead, he set a fast pace leading every lap to take the win.

Completing the triple header with three wins and becoming the championship lead going into Oulton Park, Cheshire on July 8, Daire said “Its great to be able to take five wins from six races and lead the championship this early in the season, my team mates are close behind me and I’m looking forward to Oulton Park were I hope to continue my good form.

“From the 3 rounds so far this season Daire has 7 podium places from 8 races 6 of which are 1st places”.
