BALLYMOUNT-based company Datapac provided a complete upgrade of Barretstown’s technology infrastructure recently – also redesigning the campus network to ensure better connectivity for staff and guests at the children’s charity.
As a result, Datapac has been shortlisted for the Excellence in Community category in the Chambers Ireland 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards.
The awards recognise the important contribution that CSR practices make to Irish economy, business practices, and society.
Established in 1982, Datapac is one of Ireland’s largest ICT solutions and services providers.
With offices in Robinhood Road, Dublin, Wexford, Belfast, and service locations throughout Ireland, the company provide a comprehensive range of technology services nationwide.
Datapac were chosen as the technology advisor and partner for Barretstown – tasked with a complete upgrade of the charity’s ICT infrastructure.
This included existing networks, servers, business continuity systems, PCs, laptops and the introduction of a high-speed broadband service for the first time.
The company also redesigned the campus network, including the onsite medical facility, activity rooms, accommodation units and the administration centre.
Using upgraded hardware, staff members at the charity can now get instant access to their applications and data from any location across the campus – improving productivity.
This transformative ICT solution compelled judges of the Chambers Ireland CSR Awards to shortlist Datapac for the Excellence in Community category, alongside some other high-profile contestants.
The CSR Awards ceremony will take place on September 1 in the DoubleTree by Hilton in Dublin 4.
