David has lived in London for the last 10 years persuing his passion for Musical Theatre. Originally from Kilnamanagh, he attended St Kevin’s in Kilnamanagh and Tallaght Community School. His family then moved to Lucan 15 years ago where David  attended Coláiste Phadraig.

David is thrilled to be hitting the boards of the West End. He told The Echo: “It is a great production to be involved with and I am really excited about this. I would love to work in Ireland more. I love Ireland and I try to come home about four times a year.”

In 2007, David went to London to train in Musical Theatre at Colins Performing Arts. Upon graduation in 2010, he joined the West End Cast of “Grease” at the Piccadilly Theatre, playing the role of Roger.

He then joined the cast of “Bluebirds” a war-time musical staged at Above the Stag. At the beginning of 2012 David was invited back to “Grease”  but this time touring the UK.

Upon finishing “Grease”, he  joined the original West End cast of South Parks Creators Award winning musical “The Book Of Mormon” where he remained for five years as Standby Elder Cunningham.

He got his biggest break in 2016 when he was cast in ITV’s “Benidorm” playing the role of Bean in the Season Finale of Series Nine.

He was the first character on Benidorm from Ireland, something he is very proud of. David filmed another episode for Series Ten which is due to air in February 2018.

Later this year a Disney and Gaumont cartoon “Furiki Wheels” will be released and David did the voice for the 52 episode cartoon series.

At the moment, he is concentrating on “Lady Windermere’s Fan”. Directed by Kathy Burke and starring Jennifer Saunders, Kevin Bishop and Samantha Spiro, it opens on January 22. He said: “It is an honour for me, an Irishman in England to be rehearsing a play written by an Irish man set in England”.
