Davis ladies into championship showdown

THOMAS Davis junior ladies’ team will contest the Junior F Ladies Football Championship decider on Sunday when they meet Fingal Ravens in DCU St Claire’s.

The Kiltipper outfit secured their place in the decider when they overcame the challenge of Geraldine P Morans at Kiltipper Road.

Strong defensive displays from Destiny Ogbonna, Sarah Moody and Emma Kennedy in the first half kept the visitors to a minimum.

But Thomas Davis upped their game in the second half with Karla Plowman and Abby Ferns driving on from midfield aided by the forward runs from the Captain Hollie Byrne who put in a fine performance.

Points from Nicola Douch, Caithlin Staunton and Katelyn Murray kept the pressure on the Cabinteely side before the all-important goal arrived.

The decisive score came late in the second half when Georgia Plowman beat the goalkeeper to a ball to score a crucial goal and book her team a place in the decider.

Plowman put in a solid show for Davis accounting for a goal and three points.

The Davis team is managed by John Walsh and Linda Walsh.
