De La Salle site to be renamed following complaints over abuse
THE new housing development on the site of the former De La Salle National School, has been renamed by Dublin City Council following complaints by local councillors over the “sensitivity” of the De La Salle name.
De La Salle Park was initially the proposed name of the development comprising over 800 apartments, but it came under fire during the summer due to the cases of sexual abuse which occurred in the 1970s and 1980s at the former boys’ school.
