
Derelict properties plan comes under fire
A SCHEME which targets derelict/vacant property for refurbishment, came under fire from councillors this week, who oppose the possibility that the subject properties will be then sold to “vulture funds.”
The Urban Regeneration and development Fund (URDF), part of the government’s Project Ireland 2040 planning strategy, sees funding released to local authorities to acquire vacant and derelict buildings to “rejuvenate large towns/cities.”
