Developer seeking extension of duration at Ballymount site

A DEVELOPER is seeking an extension to the duration of planning permission for the construction of seven dwellings at Forest Lodge on Ballymount Road.

Applicant Guardian Red Ltd’s plans for the site include the development of seven two-storey terraced dwellings, four of which are end terrace and three are mid terrace.

Provision of attic level and dormer window and ‘Velux’ to the front roof and ‘Velux’ to rear roof on each dwelling is included.

Each dwelling is to have a new vehicular entrance to the Ballymount Road, and two car parking spaces each in their respective front gardens.

The council granted permission for the residential development in 2018 for a period of five years, and the permission is due to lapse in September of this year.

Guardian Red Ltd stated in its application for the permission to be extended for a further five years that no works have commenced on the project to date as the vendor was “economically impacted” by the pandemic.

The developer plans to commence work on site in July or August of this year, with an expected completion date in September 2024.

A decision on the application for the extension for the duration of planning permission is due from South Dublin County Council by August 1.
