‘Disheartening’ paint sprayed at Camac River
VANDALS sprayed paint at a scenic part of the Camac River in Clondalkin – forcing volunteers to take urgent action.
Clondalkin Tidy Towns posted pictures of the graffiti which they say occurred at the “SandyHole waterfall near St Johns Wood entrance to the Clondalkin Park.”
The group said it was the first time graffiti was ever painted at this site, and described it as “most disheartening.”
“Only recently our volunteers spent several Saturday mornings cleaning and painting this area including the National Spring Clean,” said a CTT member.
“Graffiti of this sort is not welcome or acceptable and whoever is behind it needs to have a good long think about why they do it.”
The group’s graffiti removal expert Alpha Gassama, was up early on Saturday morning to make a good start in removing the offending material.
Alpha said he was happy to get to work on the graffiti, and that the group “will make Clondalkin one of the best – it really is a beautiful place.”
