GARDAI are investigating after a Domino’s delivery driver was targeted in a Tallaght estate last weekend.
According to a Garda spokesperson, officers responded to an incident on Avonbeg Drive on Sunday, October 20, at around 8pm.

The delivery driver, a man in his fifties, was unharmed. However, property and food was taken from his car, which was also damaged.
According to local reports, this is one of a number of attacks on Domino delivery drivers in recent weeks.
When contacted by The Echo, a Garda spokesperson said: “Property was taken from a delivery car and damage was caused.
“The driver of the vehicle, a man in his fifties, was unharmed.
“No arrests have been made, investigations are ongoing.”
The Echo contacted Domino’s and asked if deliveries to areas within Tallaght are being curtailed due to activity.
In a statement to The Echo, a spokesperson for Domino’s said: “The incident has been reported to the gardai, so we are unable to comment further, except to say that the safety of our colleagues and contractors is of paramount importance to us.”
In March 2017, food delivery drivers from across a number of takeaways in Tallaght joined forces and signed a mass petition calling for their safety while working.
As reported in The Echo at the time, Domino’s alone reported 16 robberies in the Tallaght area in the space of a month.
Gardai carried out an operation in the past to combat robberies on delivery drivers in the Tallaght area, which led to arrests.
Speaking with The Echo this week, Tallaght Superintendent Ian Lackey said that additional patrols, including plain clothes patrols, have been introduced in response to incidents.
Local officers have also approached service providers and companies about crime prevention measures.
“Last year there was a spate of incidents involving delivery drivers, the number of incidents go up and down”, Supt Lackey said.
“With the darker night, drivers are more vulnerable… and we are monitoring the situation, particularly into the darker evenings.”
Supt Lackey has encouraged any driver approached or who notices anything suspicious to make contact, alongside members of the community who may witness an incident.
Gardai at Tallaght are also available to meet with individuals and companies in relation to crime prevention measures.
