Drivers are warned to drive safely this busy Easter weekend

EMERGENCY services attended the scene of a two-car collision on the Belgard Road in Tallaght this morning.
On Friday morning at around 5.30am, two ambulances and two fire brigades from Tallaght rushed to the scene of the collision at the junction of Belgard Road and Katharine Tynan Road, between Kilnamanagh and Kingswood.

The crash occurred close to the Luas which was not involved in the accident and The Echo understands that two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The Luas was temporarily stopped as emergency services dealt with the incident. Gardai were also called to the scene.
According to Dublin Fire Brigade: “This morning we attended a two-car collision with Tallaght Ambulance on the Belgard Road.
“Two fire engines and two ambulances were sent to the scene.
“The Luas was not involved but tracks were temporarily blocked whilst recovery was underway.”

Garda are also investigating the collision.
In a statement this morning, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating a two-car collision that occurred on the Belgard Road, Tallaght, on 19/4/19 at approximately 5.30am.
“A driver of one of the cars, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to Tallaght Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigations are ongoing’.
Earlier this week, Gardai and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) issued a safety message to all road users ahead of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
Gardai will have a visible enforcement presence over the Easter weekend.
