Drugs worth an estimated €380k seized in Ballyfermot

DRUGS worth an estimated €380k were seized by gardai in the Ballyfermot area today.

As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs and related crime in the West Dublin area, gardai conducted an intelligence-led operation on Wednesday, July 3.

Gardai attached to the Serious Crime South Drugs Unit in Clondalkin and Ballyfermot were involved in the operation.

According to a Garda statement issued: “During the operation, a residential property in Ballyfermot was searched.

“Quantities of tablets, along with cocaine, heroin, and cannabis, were seized.

“The seized drugs have an estimated value in excess of €380,000, pending analysis.”

A man in his thirties was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region.

The investigation is ongoing, gardai said.
