DSPCA appeals for information after young dog abandoned on M50
THE DSPCA is appealing for information after a young dog was abandoned on the M50 on Wednesday, August 22.
According to the DSPCA, a female motorist spotted a car stopping near the Red Cow junction and driving off, leaving the dog behind.

The female motorist stopped, picked up the young dog and brought her to the DSPCA, where she has been named Tina and is in good health.
Speaking with The Echo, Gillian Bird, Head of Education and Media at the DSPCA, said: “Dumping a dog in any location is illegal but to leave a dog like this on a busy motorway not only endangers the animal but is a serious health and safety risk for motorists on the M50.
“People do not have to dump dogs… they can always call us at the DSPCA and if we can’t take an animal in, we will offer as much advice as we can and try to find an alternative [shelter].
“We will do our best to help.”
Tina, who is a terrier cross, is believed to be around two years old and while a little nervous is in good health.
Anybody with information on Tina is encouraged to contacted the DSPCA shelter in Rathfarnham.
Tina will do five stray days in the DSPCA after which, if not claimed, she will be put forward for re-homing.
