
Dublin Fire Brigade tackle large fire in Greenogue

Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) have been dealing with a large fire at a recycling premises in Greenogue since the early hours of this morning, Tuesday.
According to DFB, there was “large amounts of recycling material” on fire at the scene, which required the attendance of four fire engines, a water tanker, turntable ladder and senior officers.

Six units were in attendance to deal with the incident, which required firefighters to use breathing apparatus to suppress the fire.
The extent of the fire resulted in the smoke plume being visible from the Naas Road, with DFB warning people down wind of the blaze to close windows as a precaution.
They have also asked drivers travelling to work this morning not to get distracted by the plume on the N7 or M50.

As of 9am this morning, DFB said it was making “good progress” with the Greenogue fire, where it is using the turntable ladder as a water tower to pump water directly onto the fire and a terex grab to remove material.
