Dublin football manager Jim Gavin gets city pub renamed after him

CLONDALKIN legend Jim Gavin is not only on the cusp of leading Dublin to a four-in-a-row All Ireland senior football title, but he now has a pub renamed in his honour.
Tallaght native Aidan Brown and his wife Muyu Li own Peader Browns pub on Clanbrassil Street, which has been renamed Jim Gavins in the run-up to this Sunday’s All-Ireland Final clash between Dublin and Tyrone.

Originally from Parkwood in Old Bawn, Aidan named the pub after his dad Peadar, who, a barman in Aherns Pub for more more than 40 years, passed away in 2006.
The family also has strong links to Thomas Davis, with Peader Browns being the sponsor of the Kiltipper Road club’s senior and minor hurling teams.
Speaking with The Echo ahead of Sunday’s game, Aidan said: “We decided to rename the pub with the week that’s in it.
“We’re very proud to be able to rename the pub after Jim for the few days.”
When asked for his predictions on the game, Aidan said: “I’m predicting it’s going to be an easy Dublin win.
“We have music here in the bar from 7pm on Sunday with the Nevvies and I reckon it’s going to be an All-Ireland afterparty . . . hopefully we will be playing all the celebratory songs.”
