
Dublin minor camogie team secure shield title
THE DUBLIN minor camogie team finished the year on a high note when they captured the Leinster Minor ‘A’ Shield title.
Faughs/Celtic Chloe Mullen was joint captain of the side as they brushed aside the challenge of Offaly 5-18 to 2-3 to secure the title.

The opening stages of this match was a close one with both sides trading scores, but as the game progressed, the Dubs went in leading 0-9 to 1-2 at the break.
Dublin scored a goal early in the second half and the floodgates opened after this as they tagged on four more to see them run out convincing winners.
The team included Ally Ramsden (Ballyboden St Enda’s), Siun Keating (Good Counsel), Hannah Leddy (Ballyboden St Enda’s), Siofra Byrne (Lucan Sarsfields), Celine Atancio (Good Counsel), Niamh Gannon (St Jude’s), Aoife Mahon (Lucan Sarsfields), Laura Quinn (Lucan Sarsfields), Chloe Mullen (Faughs/Celtic) and Jessica McClelland.
Meanwhile, the Dublin minor camogie ‘B’ side were also out in action in the ‘B’ Cup final – going down to Westmeath 2-7 to 5-12.
Only a point separated the sides at the interval but Westmeath pulled away in the second half to run out convincing winners.
