‘The Mai’ is an epic tale of three generations of a family inspired by love but shattered by inescapable reality. It is both wildly funny and humorously tragic.
The cast include Leslie Conroy, Derbhle Crotty, Maeve FitzGerald, Stella McCusker, Rachel O’Byrne, Marion O’Dwyer, Aidan Redmond and Joan Sheehy.
Presented by Fishamble and The New Play Company and Abbey Theatre ‘Rathmines Road’ will be staged in the Civic from October 4-6
Set over one evening, Rathmines Road by Deirdre Kinahan is a play that rages in a tiny room. Fraught, funny and ferocious this new drama challenges the cultural response to accusations of sexual assault.
Following a hugely successful run of Spinning in the 2014 Dublin Theatre Festival, Fishamble is delighted to present Deirdre’s latest powerful and questioning drama. Bristling with tension ‘Rathmines Road’ unleashes a brutal truth that affects us all. It is a play that asks: when and how do we take responsibility?
The cast include Karen Ardiff, Charlie Bonner, Janet Moran, and Enda Oates.
Suitable for Ages 14+, please note some patrons may find some scenes distressing.
Early Bird tickets are available for both shows until August 31 at €18. Booking at www.civictheatre.ie or 01 4627477.
