€2.26m allocated for roadworks

Over two and a quarter million euro has been allocated to roadworks in the Lucan, Palmerstown/Fonthill area for 2024, reports Stephen Farrell.

The Council in presenting its report to Councillors at the Lucan/Palmerstown/North Clondalkin area committee meeting said that the total Budget for the area will be €2,260,000.

Road resurfacing will receive €665,000, footpath repairs/improvements has been allocated €915,000 and cycle track maintenance has been earmarked for €70,000.

Quality Bus Corridors in the area are due to be upgraded to the value of €50,000, social housing estate upgrades are forecast to amount to €40,000 while routine maintenance works is expected to amount to €250,000.

Kennelsfort Road Upper in Palmerstown has been allocated €110,000 for road-resurfacing while nearby Oakcourt Estate will have footpaths repaired costing €65,000.

Footpath repairs costing €120,000 are also scheduled to be carried out at Esker Park, Lane in Lucan in 2024.

On Griffeen Avenue cycle track maintenance to the value of €70,000 is also due to be carried out this year.
