Ecologist Richard Nairn in Conversation: The Importance of Wild Waters

CLONDALKIN Library is proud to present ‘Wild Waters – Richard Nairn in Conversation with Eanna Ni Lamhna’ this week.

Ecologist Richard Nairn will be chatting with author and presenter Eanna Ni Lamhna about how important the Wild Waters of Ireland are, as well as his own life and career.

Alison Yates, a librarian at Clondalkin Library, states that “This event is part of Red Line Presents, which are events connected to the Red Line Book Festival.”

The upcoming event is organised by the Programming & Communications Department of South Dublin Libraries.

Planning began in March this year, as they contacted Richard’s publisher about ‘Wild Waters’, his book.

Gill Books then put them in contact with Richard, and dates and venues were arranged before asking Eanna’s publisher if she would be interested in interviewing Richard.

“We decided that Heritage Week 2023 would be the perfect time for an event based around Mr Nairn’s book and that an outdoor event at the Round Tower in Clondalkin would be a beautiful venue in August.”

Other programmes planned for Heritage Week in Clondalkin Library include ‘From Clondalkin to Flanders and Beyond’, and the launch of ‘Threading the Tower’, which involves recreating Clondalkin’s Round Tower in Crochet Lace.

Clondalkin Library is working with ‘Monk’s Kitchen’ in the Clondalkin Round Tower Visitor Centre for the event.

It takes place on August 17 at 7pm, and can be booked on the Redline website HERE.
