‘Entangled’ Worth The Wait: Alice Smyth brings her plat to Tallaght Theatre
Talented Springfield native Alice Smyth Lynch is delighted to be bringing her latest play ‘Entangled’ to the Tallaght Theatre, reports Ryan Butler.
Its first scene was originally written as a ten-minute play for a local festival.
Alice decided to adapt it as a full-length play during one of the COVID lockdowns when she “would have loved a good night out,” but the best she could do was write a comedy to give people a good night out when lockdown ended.
Once Alice was happy with the script, it took an unexpectedly long time to find the cast and director, but it was “worth the wait!”.
She goes on to praise Taragh Donohoe as a “fantastic” director, incorporating comedy into the story in a natural way and helping the cast adapt to their characters.
So far, the play has been performed in parish halls, school fundraisers, football clubs, and other causes, along with bigger arts centres and theatres in Cavan and Leitrim!.
The set has always been kept small and easy to transport, as they wanted to bring the play to local communities.
After the performance in the Tallaght Theatre, the show has dates in Cavan and Longford and is hoping to book a nationwide tour later this year.
Alice would like to thank Mick from Tallaght Theare for welcoming them, and she is ecstatic to bring the show to a home venue.
‘Entangled’ will be performed in the Tallaght Theatre on January 21.
Tickets are on sale now.
