
Extension of demolition permission sought on site

PERMISSION is being sought for the extension of the duration of permission for the demolition of all existing buildings on a site at Crag Avenue and Crag Terrace in Clondalkin Industrial Estate, to make way for the construction of a building and a number of yards.
Hammond Lane Metal Co is seeking permission for the construction of a new concrete yard, and the change of use from a roof-tile manufacturing plant to a metal recycling facility including the provision of a metal shearing machine.

Permission is also being sought for the construction of a control cabin tower, a materials-handler machine mounted on a 5m-high plinth and two stockpiles, a non-ferrous metal recovery building and a covered yard with a weighbridge.
Provision for a de-pollutant reception yard and building for End of Life Vehicles (ELVs), including batteries/tyre store, a workshop, a 20,000-litre gas oil tank and bund and wash bay and a two-storey office building is included in the application.
Plans for an ESB substation store room, an MCC room, two 18-metre weighbridges, 1.5-metre internal containment walls, 31 car-parking spaces, four lorry parking spaces, four-metre-high inner security fencing and new drainage works also form part of the application.
A decision on whether an extension for the duration of previously received planning permission for the development will be granted is due from South Dublin County Council by September 18.
