KIDS have an extra incentive to keep their hands clean via a novel fairy door sanitizer.

Launched last week by Clondalkin business The Irish Fairy Door Company, the Fairy Glisten Hand Sanitising Unit, can add a bit of sparkle to kids daily lives.

Company director Niamh Sherwin Barry said the feedback has been “unanimously positive.”

“We are so lucky to have built such a wonderful supportive community. But it’s not only our loyal customers who like it, whether it’s a school, a business or an educational setting, the feedback has been incredible.”

The Irish Fairy Door Company was established in 2013 and has grown from strength to strength, with distributors in Ireland, the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and the UAE.

Schools reopening at the start of September had a part to play in the launch of the The Fairy Glisten, the latest design off the production line at company HQ in Fonthill Industrial Estate.

“Absolutely school is very different for children at the moment. The more magic the better as far as we are concerned,” said Niamh.

“Imagination and magic are an intrinsic part of childhood, we weren’t going to let a global pandemic stop us. We wanted to brighten an otherwise fairly dark and difficult time for the little people in our lives.

“Although we know how adaptable children are and they have certainly proved that since March, there definitely wasn’t enough magic happening.

Talk of hygiene and washing their hands was the main narrative so we thought why not ask the fairies to help out at little, and as always they came good.”

Fairy Glisten units retail in two sizes, for children aged 3-7 at €299 and children aged 8-12 at €349.

According to the company website, Fairy Glisten is a magical ingredient usually found in Crystal Creek in Fairy Valley, where Fairies go every day to dip their wings in a special protective ingredient.

After the addition of wellness products to their product line in 2016, the award winning business has continued to boom.

Niamh continued: “We have a full range of magical products coming out in this area and in the positive mental health space too.

The worry plaque was such a success we wanted to continue to create products that actually make a difference to children’s lives.”
