Fines (28) are issued by dog wardens

A TOTAL of 28 fines were issued by South Dublin County Council dog wardens last year, while they also dealt with 496 stray and surrendered dogs.

The majority of the fines, totalling 25, were issued to dog owners for not keeping their dogs under effectual control.

Single fines were issued for keeping a dog without a licence, the muzzling and leashing of a restricted breed, and for dog fouling.

Last year, 496 stray and surrendered dogs were dealt with by the wardens, and of those dogs, 127 were reunited with their owners and a further 348 had been rehomed by the end of 2022.
