Firefighters assist in delivery of baby boy
By Mary Dennehy
Firefighters based in Nutgrove Fire Station in Rathfarnham assisted in the delivery of a baby boy in the early hours of this morning.
The firefighters, who are all trained paramedics, responded to the call in the station’s ambulance, and assisted a mam with the delivery of a bouncing baby boy.
This is not the first time firefighters from local stations in Tallaght and Rathfarnham have come to the aid of a new mam, with crews over the years helping to bring a number of babies safely into the world.
According to Dublin Fire Brigade, the mam and baby in today’s most recent delivery are “doing well”.
