ANAM Cara is holding a free Bereavement Information Evening in Tallaght on September 10 for all parents who have lost a child.

The charity, which supports bereaved parents nationwide, is inviting people to come and listen to an experienced bereavement support worker talk about the many challenges families face after the death of their son or daughter.

The guest speaker will talk for around 40 minutes, after which there’ll be an opportunity to speak or listen to other bereaved parents and raise any questions or concerns.

Anam Cara CEO Sharon Vard stressed that this event is open to all bereaved parents “regardless of the age your child died, the circumstances of their death or whether the death was recent or not”.

She added: “Anam Cara gives bereaved mums and dads a chance to meet and connect with other bereaved parents in a safe and comfortable setting.

“Here you can find a level of support and understanding that – even with the best will in the world – it can be difficult for family and friends to offer.”

The information evening is free and will be held in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght, on Monday, September 10, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Anam Cara needs to confirm numbers, so if attending RSVP to info [at] anamcara [dot] ie or call the Information Line on 085 2888888.
