
Thirteen pedestrians hospitalised after collision with car outside Clondalkin church

GARDAI and emergency services are at the scene of a collision between a car and a number of pedestrians at the Immaculate Conception Church at Laurel Park in Clondalkin this morning.
According to gardai, the collision occurred at approximately 10.20am this morning (June 25), and 13 people have been hospitalised.
The injured are being treated in a number of Dublin hospitals, including the James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Tallaght Hospital and St James’ Hospital.
The Echo understands that of those hospitalised three are in critical condition, two are being treated for life-changing injuries, four are in a serious condition while the remainder are being treated for minor injuries.
In a statement to The Echo, a Garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of an incident at a Church in Clondalkin Village, Dublin 22, this morning.
“It is understood there has been a collision between a car and pedestrians on the grounds of a church which occurred at approximately 10:20am.
“Developments will be updated.”
