
Fr Fintan was ‘one of the nicest priests’ in parish
TRIBUTES have poured in this week for former Clondalkin priest Fr Fintan Crotty, who passed away earlier this month on January 6.
A Requiem Mass for Fr Fintan is due to take place at Sruleen Parish Church on Tuesday, January 26 at 12 noon.

Mourners are advised that the funeral will be private, in line with Covid restrictions and places are limited.

Tributes have been shared online by residents who recalled “one of the nicest priests”, a “wonderful man and priest” and someone who helped establish the local school and community in the parish of Sruleen.
A message on RIP.ie said: “The death has occurred of Father Fintan Crotty ss.cc., congregation of the Sacred Hearts, Ranelagh, and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, London.
“Predeceased by his sister, Sr Angela and his brothers Brendan and Patrick. Deeply regretted by his Brother Columban (Kevin,) ss.cc. (Massachusetts, USA,) sister in law Liza, nephews and niece, extended family, and Secular Branch members of the Congregation of the Sacred Hearts, and Fintan’s many friends and parishioners.”
The burial will take place after the funeral service in the Sacred Hearts Community Plot, Palmerstown Cemetery.
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish said a memorial page and electronic book of condolences will soon be opened.
