FREE adult courses are available in Tallaght and Clondalkin this week, as part of the Aontas Adult Learning Festival 2017 (March 6-10).

Aontas, a national adult learning organisation, co-ordinates the festival each year.

Residents are invited to Tallaght Library on Monday, March 6, from 10am to 12 noon, and to the Mill Shopping Centre in Clondalkin on Wednesday, March 8, from 10am to 12 noon.

South Dublin County Partnership is a local development organisation tackling poverty and social exclusion.

They help people prepare for employment, return to education, undertake accredited and non-accredited training, gain new skills and support access to youth activities.

The events in South Dublin County are some of the almost 200 nationwide events taking place during the Aontas festivals.
Libraries, Education Training Boards (ETBs), adult learning centres, museums and galleries are taking part in the festival from March 6-10.

Kay O’Connor, Lifelong Learning Development Officer SDCP, said: “This is a great opportunity for people to find out about the free courses and services available to them on their doorstep.

“Throughout the Aontas festival week, we will be out and about in the community to highlight what we do and to spread the word about jobs of learning.

“For anybody interested in returning to education, undertaking courses or gaining employment come along to find out more and chat to our friendly staff.”
