Fun-packed schedule of family events across local communities this weekend

LASH on the sun cream and pop on a hat and enjoy some of these free, family fun events happening locally this weekend!

Tallafest – The community festival pitches tent in Tallaght Village this Saturday, June 30, from 12pm to 5pm. Now in its 7th year, the festival boasts a fun day of family activities including sports, music, craft workshops, play spaces, history walks, pet farm and more! NINA for Life Family Fun Day – The community-led family day will take to the green beside the Kingswood Community Centre this Saturday (June 30) from 12pm to 4.30pm. The day will include BBQ, novelty games, inflatables, local singers, puppet and magic show, face painting, football competitions and more! Visit HERE for details.

InClondalkin Festival – The popular InClondalkin Festival will be returning this weekend, with a whole host of activities including Irish language events, poetry readings, free guided historical walking tours, live performances in Clondalkin Village and family fun from Friday (June 29) to Sunday (July 1). Bohernabreena Tractor Run and Family Field Day – The wheels have been set in motion for the Bohernabreena Tractor Run 2018 and family fun field day this Sunday, July 1. The Bohernabreena Tractor and Vintage Run will start at 12pm, after which there’ll be bails of fun until 5pm for all the family in the field behind St Anne’s Church. More details HERE

Family Fun Run Corkagh Park – A family fun run will be held in Clondalkin’s Corkagh Park on Saturday (June 30) in aid of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Ireland (SBHI). The Family Fun Run will give participants the option of either doing the Marthaon Man to Iron Man 2.5k or a 5k circuit of the park, and there will be chip timing for all runners. Everyone who completes the run will get a medal, and children will get goodie bags.

Entry is €20 for an adult, €5 for a child, or you can pay for a family entry of two adults and two children for €30, and you can register in advance HERE or register on the day ahead of the race, which begins at 11am.

*Remember to play safe in the sun and pack a bag with water, suncream and hats – and walk and sit in the shade where possible.
