Fundraiser held to honour young mother of two Nadine

A FUDNRAISER was held to honor a young mother who died just weeks after marrying the love of her life in hospital.

Clondalkin mother of two Nadine Lennon passed away on May 5 after being diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer. The 31-year-old married her partner Leigh Watters at St Vincent’s Hospital chapel in April after being informed time was running out.

Nadine invited her TikTok followers to watch a live stream of her wedding and had been sharing her cancer journey online.

Following her tragic passing, Relay for Life Clondalkin expressed their “sincere condolences” and praised Nadine for leaving a “legacy” that will live on.

“You spread so much awareness about early detection and listening to your body.

“Your story has taught so many to not sweat the small stuff and to live every day as if its your last,” said the group.

On Saturday, family and friends held a charity fundraiser at Collinstown school on Neilstown Road in memory of Nadine.

Patricia Rochford, who was at the fundraise, said the event went “very well” and “everyone went off happy with their prizes”.

A message on Staffords Funeral Homes on May 8 said: “Nadine Lennon Watters, (Gorey Wexford and formerly of Clondalkin) peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in St Vincent’s Hospital Elm Park, surrounded by her loving family.

Beloved wife of Leigh and loving mam to Nathan and Daisy.

Very sadly missed by her loving family.

Loving daughter of Sandra and Tommy, sister of Amanda and Sabrina, daughter-in-law of Andrea and Damien, brothers-in-law Dylan, John and David, sister-in-law Layla, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.”

Nadine’s sister Amanda set up a GoFundMe for the family HERE.
