A WOMAN and her two children lost their way when they were walking near The Hell Fire Club over the weekend, but were led back to safety when a helicopter from the Garda Air Support Unit landed nearby and a garda ensured they found their way back.

The incident occurred on Sunday, when the Garda Air Support Unit were on a proactive crime prevention patrol around the Tallaght area.

They received a call about a woman and her two children who had become lost while walking nearby at Montpelier Hill.

According to An Garda Síochana, the garda helicopter established the location of the trio and then made an assessment to land the helicopter nearby.

On landing, one garda alighted from the helicopter and brought the family onto the main path and directed them back towards the car park.

An Garda Síochana concluded their Facebook post about the incident by adding that they wanted to “acknowledge the invaluable assistance provided by the Irish Air Corps pilot while completing this task”.
