Garda clinics are planned for Kingswood and Kilnamanagh
PEOPLE from Kingswood and Kilnamanagh are invited to attend the Kilnamanagh Neighbourhood Watch AGM next week, where details of new garda clinics in the area will be shared.
The meeting, which takes place on Monday, April 3, in St Kevin’s Family Resource Centre at 7.30pm, is the first meeting held by the group since the pandemic. Gardaí will also be in attendance at the meeting, where they will present crime statistics for the area and listen to the concerns of residents.
A key topic of the discussion at the meeting will also centre on the start of a new monthly garda clinic, which will take place in Kingswood and Kilnamanagh on alternate months.
A spokesperson for Kilnamanagh Neighbourhood Watch told The Echo: “They can report things at the clinics instead of having to go to Tallaght Garda Station.
“It will be held in Kingswood one month, then Kilnamanagh the next, and people can go without having to go to the station, which for a lot of people isn’t a pleasant experience.
“Lots of people have told us that they hate going to the station, but whether people can replace that by coming to the clinics…we won’t know if it’ll work unless we do it.”
The details on when the clinics will commence have not yet been finalised, although they’re expected to begin next month with confirmed dates and times being released at the AGM next week.
