Garda: “International forger of the year….NOT!”

As the large Garda presence on our roads continues over the Bank Holiday weekend, officers have shared images of a somewhat shoddy attempt to forge an insurance disc.

The vehicle was intercepted by Gardai in Wexford, and they discovered that not only did the driver have no road tax or NCT, but they had also fraudulently extended the life of their insurance disc.

Using a marker, the date had been altered to read to August 2018, rather than June 2016.

It’s not the first time officers have come across this tactic, and speaking today a spokesperson said: “International forger of the year….NOT! Car intercepted by Wexford Gardai with no Tax/NCT and altered Ins Disc. Prosecution to follow.”
