Gardai carrying out ‘day of action’ on Luas

LUAS lines will be patrolled by gardai today as part of an operation to prevent and detect anti-social behaviour on board public transport.

An Garda Siochana, in partnership with Iarnród Éireann/Irish Rail and Transdev Ireland (LUAS) operators, are conducting a day of action as part of Operation Twin Tracks.

With the support of personnel from both public transport providers, gardai will be conducting high visibility patrols of Luas and Dart services across Dublin, as well as on several intercity Irish Rail services.

According to gardai, the objectives are to ensure public safety by addressing anti-social behaviour, protecting life and property and to engage with the public and provide crime prevention advice.
