Gardai investigating parcel motel robbery
By Aura McMenamin
Gardai are investigating a robbery at a ‘parcel motel’ in a petrol station in Lucan in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The robbery occurred at a parcel motel located at the Maxol station on the Newcastle Road in Adamstown at approximately 2am.
The Nightline parcel motel is a self-serving parcel terminal where people’s online deliveries are stored.
Customers normally receive a unique PIN number to release their package from their locker.
However, photos from scene show emptied locker doors hanging wide open.
A garda spokesperson confirmed the incident, saying: “Gardaí are investigating a theft incident at a Petrol Station on Newcastle Road, Lucan, on September 18, 2017 at approximately 2am. No arrests made, investigation ongoing.”
