Gardai seize drugs worth €28,000 in Tallaght

GARDAI seized approximately €24,000 of suspected cannabis herb and €4,000 of suspected cocaine during a search operation on Thursday afternoon.
The seizure was made by the Tallaght District Drugs Unit and Community Policing Unit as part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the area.

One male, aged in his 40s was charged and appeared before Tallaght District Court on Friday.
Gardai said this evening: “As part of an ongoing operation into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Tallaght District, Gardaí seized approximately €24,000 of suspected cannabis herb and €4,000 of suspected cocaine during a search operation on Thursday, 4th March 2021.
“Gardaí from the District Drugs Unit and Community Policing Unit conducted a search at a residence in Tallaght under warrant at approximately 2.30pm on Thursday.
“During the course of the search suspected cannabis herb and cocaine were seized with a street value totalling €28,000. The drugs will now be sent for analysis.
“One male, aged in his 40s, was arrested and taken to Tallaght Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
“He was later charged and appeared before Tallaght District Court on Friday, 5th March 2021.”
