
Gifted footballer pleads guilty to assaulting mother at family home
A TEENAGER (16) who assaulted his mother has gone for a trial with a soccer club in the north of England, Tallaght Court has heard.
The teenager, who has an address in Tallaght, had pleaded guilty to assaulting his mother at their home on June 28, 2016.
The court had heard that the boy had pushed his mother against the wall and grabbed her by the throat after she asked him if he knew where her keys were.
He was due before Judge Patricia McNamara for a progress report.
His solicitor, Michael Hennessy, told Judge McNamara that his client had flown to the UK for a trial with a soccer club. The club, who are based in Northern England play in League One. Judge McNamara commented that the boy is a gifted footballer.
She adjourned the case for two weeks for a further progress report.
