Glamour, glitz and bargain buys
By Hayden Moore
The recently opened Down Syndrome Ireland Shop in Templeogue village kicked off their Christmas season to great success with a glamour night, reports Hayden Moore.
A queue formed outside the doors of the charity shop before they opened at 5.30pm and hundreds flooded the premises over the course of the two hours they were open.

Greeted with a Prosecco reception and salmon on brown bread upon arrival, customers had a whole host of top designer brands to pick from that were both new and pre-loved.
“I think a lot of people were surprised we had such good stuff, nobody left with just one item – everybody was buying two or three things at least,” said Marian Kane, Manager of the Down Syndrome Ireland shop in Templeogue.
Crying out for help, they are still on the hunt for people willing to give up a minimum of four hours per week to help run the shop in Templeogue.
