
Go-ahead given for development of 256 dwellings at Adamstown

PLANNING permission has been granted for the development of 256 dwellings on three separate parcels of land known as 3A, 3B and 3C in Adamstown, Lucan.
Property developer Cairn Homes Ltd, who is also behind a 459-unit residential development at Cooldown Commons in Citywest, was granted planning permission by South Dublin County Council for the Adamstown development on July 17.
Provision for private gardens and pedestrian footpaths
It is proposed that site 3A, bounded by the proposed Tobermaclugg Park to the north and west, with access from Shackleton Drive, will contain 28 two- and three-storey houses, one four-bedroom house, 15 three-bedroom houses, eight four-bedroom houses and four five-bedroom houses.
Site 3B, located to the north-west of the proposed Airlie Park and south-east of the proposed Tobermaclugg Local Centre is to consist of 25 two- and three-storey terraced houses, 22 three-bedroom houses, two four-bedroom houses and one five-bedroom house.
Provision for two apartment blocks at site 3B is including in the application, with Block One being a three-storey terraced block consisting of four duplex units, comprising of two two-bedroom duplex units and two three-bedroom duplex units.
Block Two will be a three-storey terraced block, consisting of 16 duplex/apartment units comprising eight two-bedroom apartment units and eight three-bedroom duplex units.
Site 3C, located to the east of Airlie Park and bounded by Adamstown Boulevard to the eastern boundary, is to be a site for the development of 36 two- and three-storey houses, 24 three-bedroom houses, 10 four-bedroom houses and two five-bedroom houses.
It is also proposed that site 3C will also contain four apartment blocks, with one three-storey terraced block consisting of four duplex units, comprising two two-bedroom duplex units, and two three-bedroom duplex units, while the second block, also to be a three-storey terraced block, is to consist of 14 duplex/apartment units comprising seven two-bedroom apartment units and seven three-bedroom duplex units.
The third three-storey terraced apartment block at site 3C is to contain ten duplex/apartment units, comprising of five two-bedroom apartment units and five three-bedroom duplex units; while the sixth block is to be a four- to five-storey block consisting of 26 apartment units comprising five one-bedroom duplex units and 21 two-bedroom duplex units.
Provision for associated private gardens, all associated pedestrian footpaths and cycle paths, car parking and bin storage at all three sites is included in the application for planning permission.
