Good start for young driver Daire
RACING driver Daire Flock got off to a great start in his first round of racing last weekend in the Junior Saloon Car Championship (JSCC) 2023.
The 15-year-old, qualifying was on Saturday at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire and Daire qualified third on the grid for race 1 and second for race 2.
Cadwell Park track is a fast and twisty circuit, with very few passing points.
After qualifying Daire said “I am happy with my grid positions in both races, there was a lot of traffic with 18 rookies on the track, so time management and placement on the track had to be managed.
The most important thing tomorrow is to get off the line as quick as possible.”
In his first race Daire managed to get off to a good start gaining one place to second, Daire said “the pace was fast at the front, I was pushing for 1st after getting in second off the start from third , I made a slight error and ended up in 3rd place unfortunately due to the nature of the track I was unable to improve my position.
“And finished 3rd overall, I will be going for 1st in the next race, is all about the start in that race”.
In the second race, Daire got a great start from second on the grid and pulled three car lengths ahead going into the first corner leading the pack from the start of the race he was leading by three seconds by the end of the race.
Daire got fastest lap and romped home in 1st place with teammates getting 2nd, 3rd and 4th place it was a great weekend for Westbourne Motorsport.
