Have Pass, Will Travel: Photo book of active retirement group launched
A LOCAL active-age group for retirees is the subject of a vibrant photobook which was launched in the city centre this month.
The Tallaght-based ‘Have Pass, Will Travel’ group previously made a star turn when photographs of them were displayed at an outdoor multimedia exhibition at Rua Red in 2021.

The exhibition was the brainchild of Ste Murray, an architectural and performance photographer who snapped photos when he went with the group on their monthly outings throughout 2018 and 2019.
These photos then formed the basis of the exhibition, and also feature in the new photobook – alongside more recent photos that Ste has taken of the group.
Ste, who grew up in Bancroft and is a past pupil of Coláiste de hÍde, previously told The Echo that he undertook the photography project as he likes to undertake personal projects with great depth.

This has ultimately led to the development of the photobook, which was launched at Photo Ireland’s Tsundoku Book Fair in Dublin Castle.
“With photographs spanning from 2018-2023,” added Ste, “this book is dedicated to a community group of over 70 people that has been running for over 10 years.”

The photobook is available to order for €25 from Ste’s online print store, ste.ie.
