
HSE gets go-ahead for Cherry Orchard temporary units

THE HSE have received planning permission from Dublin City Council to provide temporary accommodation units in Cherry Orchard Hospital – while works for a new ambulance base at Davitt Road are taking place.
Plans include the provision of four single-storey interconnected prefabricated modular units spanning a total area 162 sq m, comprising changing facilities, offices and stores, connecting to the existing ambulance service accommodation.
Plans also include a single-storey vehicular shelter/ wash-down facility structure, a new temporary vehicular access route, 16 staff parking bays, and 16 temporary ambulance parking spaces.
Permission was granted on July 14 and is for a period of three years.
The developer shall pay a sum of €3,782 to the planning authority.
DCC previously granted planning permission for the development of the new ambulance base to the rear of the former Unilever site at Davitt Road.
Proposals for the 1.29 hectare site in Davitt Road, consist of the construction of 1,600 sq m building, 37 ambulance fleet vehicle parking bays, 40 car-parking spaces, enclosed vehicle wash/ motorcycle/ bicycle structure, internal gates and landscaping areas.
Plans also include connections to the public water infrastructure, the creation of a new entrance to the site at Davitt Road, security gates, and associated site development and landscaping works.
