Intimidation of politicians may see fewer going up for election

“I got a threat of rape. I read it. I went into the bathroom. I threw up, my knees went from under me.”

This is one instance of intimidation on social media received by Senator Mary Seery Kearney (FG), which she related during the RTÉ Radió 1 Documentary on One, ‘Nastiness – a snapshot of a moment of crisis in Irish politics’, which was broadcast on Saturday.
