‘Invalid notice’ submitted for waste treatment development
A PLANNING proposal for a waste treatment facility in Kylemore, will have to be resubmitted following a declaration of ‘invalid notice’ by Dublin City Council.
Integrated Materials DC Limited, a company based in Kylemore Business Park, are seeking permission for the proposed development that will facilitate the processing and/or disposal of up to 50,000 tonnes of waste per annum including packing material, commercial and industrial waste, construction and demolition waste and municipal solid waste.
The proposal seeks the change of use of the existing metal resource recyling facility to a waste treatment facility.
In assessing the planning application on August 3, city council planners advise the applicant to resubmit their plans, and clarify a letter of consent and the schedule of drawings and documents.
According to the plans, Integrated Materials say that waste handling activities are proposed internally within the existing building.
However, the proposed works to accommodate a change of use include the demolition of four external ancillary structures, demolition of internal structures and staircase to facilitate the removal of the mezzanine floor level, removal of the free standing external support structure and crane to the rear and eastern elevation, and construction of an extension to the rear and western side of the existing building to facilitate a new double bay storage area and office.
Permission is also sought for works to the external yard including the provision of two HGV parking spaces, 14 bicycle parking spaces, installation of a new weighbridge and provision of a new reinforced concrete boundary wall and fence on the western and northern boundaries.
The proposed activity requires a Waste Facility Permit from Dublin City Council.
