Irish-owned RightStyle Furniture employs 14 staff as business success story continues to grow
EXPERIENCED entrepreneurs often say the best time to start a business is during a recession - an adage that certainly applies to RightStyle Furniture.
The Tallaght business was kickstarted in 2009 by Lisa and Liam Walsh, who started out manning the operation on their own in a Ballyfermot premises.
Demand for their products hit the mark and the pair expanded with a Fonthill store in 2015, and they subsequently opened another outlet at Belgard Retail Park last December.
Today, the business employs 14 staff.
The local success story is built on a simple premise according to Liam – support local Irish businesses and provide quality goods at affordable prices.
“We have the best staff working for us, accross sales, administration, the warehouse and drivers including all our staff in our new Tallaght branch, managed by Shane Somers. Drop in to see them and find out about our interest-free offers.
“We are always on fashion and price. Everything on the floor is driven by our customers. If there is a demand, we will get it in at the best price.”
Starting out in 2009 didn’t faze the couple.
“Is there ever a good time to start a business – the only thing we had on our minds were our Children” said Liam and Lisa.
Something the pair feel strongly about is that they have made a conscious effort to work with Irish suppliers and manufacturers.
“I’m of the belief, and maybe that comes from my family background and education, that we should support Irish business,” said Liam.
All our suppliers, agents and manufacturers are Irish based. I firmly believe that if you make your money in Ireland, you have a certain responsibility to put it back in.”
“The next step for us is to expand. We need to get to the customer. If we can find the right place, strategically located close to the M50, that would help us to meet demand.”
