Judge Darren felt it was a real challenge for Mary this week while Brian felt the dance was forced at times. Mary had scored 18 points from the judges.

After her elimination, Mary, a former Colaiste Bride teacher who lives in Knocklyon said: “It was a wonderful opportunity, I’ve learnt so much. I’ve been out of of my comfort zone. It was a great challenge.

“I really do hope that people of my age watching it would say ‘yeah I could do that or I’ll try something different or something new’.”

On Mary’s performance: Judge Brian said: “That made me feel young at heart at times. It was maybe a little bit forced. The atmosphere was great the whole way through. That was the first time I’ve seen you look that relaxed in a Latin dance.”
