‘It has been a pleasure and honour to be your mom’

A GO-FUND-Me page has been set up to cover the funeral and medical expenses for a girl (11) who died on Monday after a traffic accident in Lucan last Sunday.
Ashley Bombita, from Ongar in West Dublin, was a passenger in a car driven by her father Billy when it crashed into a pillar on the Lower Lucan Road on Saturday at 11.30am.

Ashley was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital with her sister April (7) whlle their father, Billy, was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.
Ashley suffered critical injuries in the accident while the injuries of her sister and father were described as serious, but not life-threatening.
A GoFundMe page has been set up seeking to raise €12,000 to help the family cover “funeral expenses and additional unforeseen medical expenses”.
The page has raised nearly €10,500.
On social media, Ashley’s mother, Rowena Bombita paid tribute to her daughter.
“Ashley Bombita, anak ko, I thank God for 11 wonderful and meaningful years spent with you,” she said.
Anak ko translates as ‘my child’ in the native Tagalog language of the Philippines where the Bombita family is originally from.
She added: “Those days when you inspired me to be grateful even for the littlest and simplest blessings in life.
Nothing compared to you giving me hugs and kisses when I am down. You loved kissing and clinging onto me. I felt so much compassion from you.
“You love the Lord and accepted him as your God and Saviour. I would say you have more joy now with our Creator. Sorry anak, It hurts so bad now.
“It is just too soon, anak. Reality hits so bad. It has been a pleasure and honour to be your mom. Till we meet again my tweeny,” Rowena concluded.
Gardai are carrying out inquiries into the incident to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A Garda spokesman told The Echo: “We are appealing to any persons who may have witnessed the collision or any road users who may have been in the area at the time and who may have camera footage, to contact them at Lucan Garda Station on 01 – 6667300, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.”
Ashley’s viewing will be today (Thursday) and tomorrow from 10am to 1pm and 4pm to 7pm in Lucan Baptist Church in Hills Industrial Estate in Lucan.
