Jordanne Jones – Tallaght girl named one of screen international’s stars

You may have seen her starring in Rebellion, or you may have seen her walking around the neighbourhood.
Killinarden native Jordanne Jones has been named one of Screen International’s Stars of Tomorrow 2019 for her role in Metal Heart, in which she plays Emma, a fraternal twin who has nothing in common with her sister.

Jones shines in this coming-of-age story, and has received phenomenal reviews from critics. This is not her first time to be recognised for her skills on the screen. Jones was the winner of the Breakthrough Star Award at the 2018 Galway Film Fleadh.
Making her debut in 2014 as Amy in I Used to Live Here, Jordanne won the Irish Breakthrough Award from the Dublin Film Critics’ Circle for the performance in 2015.
Although I Used to Live Here was her acting debut, Jordanne may be most recognised from her role of Minnie in the series Rebellion, a period piece about living in times of war. This was a widely known series and Jordanne’s career really took off from the series.
Jones is currently studying film and English literature at Trinity College Dublin, and is successfully pursuing her dream of becoming an actress.
Along with being an actress, Jordanne is also the daughter of Senator Lynn Ruane. With the encouragement of her mother, Jordanne has become a voice for things she believes in, canvassing for certain campaigns like the Repeal the Eighth movement.
Jones is currently working on upcoming projects Sister This and Moth, which are both short films, along with Dead Still, a television series.
