June 2016 Team of the Month – Clondalkin Gymnastics Club

THE relatively new partnership of Reece Ward Hughes and Rian Bailey has proven an immediate success for Clondalkin Gymnastics Club.

Only formed last autumn, this Grade Four Pair went top of the podium at the All-Ireland National Acro Finals held in the University of Limerick.

It was a tremendous achievement by the two young competitors who will be part of the 17-strong Clondalkin team that will travel to Newcastle for an international meet in October.

The two will also be aiming to qualify for the ATT Cup in Limerick in December.

Their achievement last month was the highlight in two successful days of competition for the club.

Indeed The Women’s Trio of Sophie Toomey, Fiona Tapley and Orna Lamon, competing in the Out of Age category won silver as did The Grade Four Women’s Trio of Grace Carey, Katie Cowzer and Leah Scales.

The club’s Grade Three Mixed Pair of Morgan Carrol and Sarah Lynch, in their first All-Ireland Final as a partnership at this level, also emerged runners-up.
