JW Bathrooms have successful first year

STARTING a business is a daunting task, but there wasn’t much time for James Walsh to dwell on things when he opened his own company last year.

Walsh established JW Bathrooms in Crumlin Village 12 months ago, but as soon as he opened, business was full steam ahead.

“The first 12 months have been great,” said Gemma Walsh, sister of James and a sales/admin staff member at the showroom.

“We were flat out the for the first few months and up until Christmas. It got a bit slow around Storm Emma, but there wasn’t much happening for any businesses at that time.

“In fact we were so busy at the start that we didn’t even have time to do a proper opening, so we are coinciding our one-year anniversary with that this week.”

JW Bathrooms provide a full range of bathroom designs and specification services for customers and clients.

James (33), a Saggart resident and father of three young kids, grew up in Springfield, Tallaght.

With extensive experience working in the industry, he saw an opportunity last year to start his own venture, sourcing a former butcher’s premises in Crumlin Village, across the road from the Village Inn.

“We do everything from small jobs to huge jobs,” said Gemma.

“People will come in to buy one mirror but we also do mostly standard bathroom renovations. Most people would be looking for products to be fitted, which we do and have plumbers and tilers on standby.”

JW Bathrooms showroom is open Monday to Friday and by appointment on Saturday’s.
